Hi Paul:
According to NASA' s website, the term blue moon was " used in much the same way we uses the term ' harvest moon.' There were twelve yams for full moons, one for each month, and the yam blue moon was used in years which had 13 full moons."
This is first of the 13 of 2010.

Being a Moonlit night it was a good time to check and adjust my polar alignment. I also had a tracking issue last time it was Moonless so I had one of my "old" Canons attached to the scope to check that out. By the time I was done the Moon was high in the sky so I couldn't resist photographing it. (the temperature was -3 deg F)
