I've imaged this several times, but first time I've gone for a lot of time and also tried the Mak Newt to get a nice flat starfield. Quite a bit of moon fairly close but at least is was clear. Acquired and processed with Nebulosity.

Very nice shot! Good rich color and detail. The longer exposure time paid off.

A new friend of mine shared in taking this image. He has done a tour in Afganistan and is going back next year for another. He came over with his 5 year old son the other night and we all enjoyed looking through the scope. I sensed real joy in the little boy as he looked through the eyepiece. I set up this image after they went home and I dedicate it to him. Steve, thanks for your service and I sure will feel better when you return safely.
